I’ll be honest – this app kept popping up in the top 25 and when I read the description it looked boring…but after some research I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. This is the PERFECT app for the busy parent who wants to almost effortlessly keep a thoughtful journal of those special moments. What really sold me on it was the Facebook integration (it downloads your past year and a half of statuses). For so long I had wished I could gather my statuses in a journal format (same goes for Tweets). That’s just where this app begins. It is just flat out packed with features and they deliver. I’m going to let it speak for itself for a bit here:
Here’s what it can do:
- CONNECT TO:
- Tweets from Twitter
- Facebook Statuses
- Flickr Photos
- Last.fm Loved Tracks
- RSS/Atom Feeds
- Foursquare Checkins
- Gowalla Checkins
- Diggs from Digg
- YouTube Videos
- Vimeo Videos
FEATURES:
- Tag people you meet
- Tag places you visit
- Tag memorable events
- Create custom tags
- Rate moments
- Attach photos
- Fully searchable
- Passcode protection
- Landscape support
- Retina display ready
- Backup & restore
- Export data
- Multiple feed accounts
You can add more private or profound moments within the app, rate them, attach a picture, tag a location, tag people and a multitude of other things. You can pull up a calendar and types of recorded moments are represented by color coded dots. Awesome. It gets better. You can export your entire journal into iTunes file sharing and keep a digital copy for backup or later printing.
I don’t want to forget so many of these precious moments with my kids and husband, but without writing them down my brain just can’t hold them all forever. Thank you Momento!
I give Momento 4.5 stars. Once they allow movie clip integration straight from the camera roll, I’ll give them 5 stars.M
