I have to admit, the name was a bit weird and I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one. When I first opened it, everything was very professional – the music was catchy, voice over cute (and not annoying) and there was a good variety of learning games for my daughter.
The real test was letting my daughter play with it to see if she actually learned anything or even enjoyed it. Needless to say, at about 2 1/2 it became one of her favorite games. The user interface was easy for her to pick up on and she went right to playing with the little monkey who asked her questions like, “Can you find the banana?” or “How many oranges are there?”
There are 5 mini games in this app that deal with: puzzle solving, counting, matching, colors, numbers and letters.
The games and questions are not too repetitious so it keeps my daughters attention still even though we have now had the app for about 6 months. She likes the sticker rewards and the variety keeps her engaged.
Is it worth the .99? ABSOLUTELY. Great educational value and fun wrapped up in a .99 app is sometimes hard to find for little ones, but the developers certainly knew what they were doing here.
I give the acrobatic little monkey from Monkey Preschool Lunchbox 4 out of 5 gold stars for doing his homework and helping my kids learn a little more in their pre-preschool years.
