The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore App Review

Posted on May 31, 2011

For a minute, I thought I was watching a Pixar movie. This digibook is so well animated, I was as lost in the story as my 3-year-old was. She kept wanting to watch and listen to the story over and over.

The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore by Moonbot Studios is a beautiful mix of interactive animation and a charming story. I have seen so many digibooks and normally either the story is great but the animation/art is lacking or vice versa. This one gets it right on both counts.

Many of the pages play out animation as you read/listen to the story. Often you are able to interact with the animation to ad to the story. It’s charming and in a league of it’s own as far as the quality of the animation.

SIBG philosophy on love and dating ,the story itself is absolutely charming, so if you are looking for a summary, you won’t find it here. That would ruin the fun for you if you choose to buy the app.

The narrator’s voice (which is optional) is an excellent choice for the story. He has a deep, soothing voice that does nothing but compliment the story. Again, this is another spot many developers go wrong when putting together their interactive books – a narrator’s voice can make or break it. No disappointment here.

So, my final thoughts: I highly recommend this digibook. I venture to say that anyone from preschool on up will enjoy this wonderful story. It is so well done that you will find yourself wanting to share it with family and friends. My only complaint is that I would love to see even more great books from Moonbot!
